Purpose
EvidenceTransfer exists to answer practical questions such as: How should digital evidence be preserved? Are screenshots useful evidence? What does an account export add? When might forensic collection be appropriate? And what changes when the evidence source is a personal AI conversation history containing much more private information than a lawsuit requires?
Editorial method
For legal propositions, we prefer statutes, rules and court decisions. For provider features, we prefer the provider’s current help or documentation pages. For technical process, we prefer recognized standards and government technical guidance where available. Secondary legal and eDiscovery sources are used for practitioner context, terminology and issue spotting—not to turn a vendor’s preferred workflow into a universal legal rule.
Search-intent research also examines the language used by law firms, litigation-support providers, forensic vendors and current search results. That helps us answer the question people are actually asking while preserving legal and technical nuance.
What we do not claim
- EvidenceTransfer is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
- We do not claim that screenshots are always sufficient or always defective.
- We do not claim every digital item requires a forensic collection, hashing or formal chain-of-custody software.
- We do not claim that AI chats are always discoverable, never privileged, or automatically admissible.
- We do not fabricate experts, attorney reviewers, endorsements or court approval.
EvidenceKeep relationship disclosure
EvidenceTransfer and EvidenceKeep are related projects under common ownership. EvidenceTransfer is not an independent review site and does not present EvidenceKeep as a third-party “winner.” EvidenceKeep is referenced where its product is directly relevant to the problem being explained: preserving a broader AI conversation source while minimizing unnecessary disclosure and maintaining provenance for selected material.
The educational guides are intended to stand on their own. A reader should be able to learn from EvidenceTransfer without using or visiting EvidenceKeep.
Site privacy
This V1 site contains no contact forms, advertising pixels, behavioral analytics or third-party JavaScript. The hosting and DNS provider may maintain ordinary security and server logs as part of delivering the site. If analytics are introduced later, this notice should be updated before deployment of that tracking.
Updates and corrections
Digital evidence practice, provider export features and AI-related case law are changing quickly. Guides display an update date. Important source changes should be reflected in the article and in the source library.
